ASTM A240 Type 347 is made by the addition of tantalum/columbium. These grades are primarily used in the aircraft industry. 347 Stainless Steel Plate T- 347 is an excellent grade for its improved corrosion resistance over stainless 321 in strongly oxidizing environments. Stainless 347 plate is a perfect choice material for high strength and high temperature environments in 1500°F.
ASTM A240 Type 347 stainless steel plate has slightly improved corrosion resistance over type 321 stainless steel in strongly oxidizing environments. Alloy 347 Plate (S34700) is stabilized stainless steel plate which offers as its main advantage an excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following exposure to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range from 800 to 1500°F (427 to 816°C). SS 347 Plate is stabilized by the addition of columbium and tantalum.
