What is S355 J2+N Plate ?
Standard: EN 10025: 2004 Specification
As an unalloyed low carbon mild steel grade S355 is supplied in the hot rolled condition. The S355 steel specifications are high yield non alloy steels. First specified in the European EN10025 standard and later published by the British Standards Institure (BSI) as BS EN 10025 S355, S355J2 and S355J2+N. These standards superceded the BS4360 grades. The average minimum yield for this material is 355 N/mm², hence the name S355.
S355 – offers high yield and tensile strength with a minimum yield strength of 355 N/mm² , a structural grade steel which is widely used in engineering and construction industries, can be supplied with a variety of treatments and test options to ensure that it is a highly usable steel in your various projects.
S355J2+N is welder-friendly, low carbon, high tensile strength structural steel, can be readily welded to other weldable steel. For its low carbon equivalent, it possesses good cold-forming properties. The plate is produced by fully killed steel process and supplied in a normalized or controlled rolling condition.
S355J2+N and S355J2G3 are the same steel grades as both grades delivery condition are normalized. G3 and N stand for normalized.
