What is P460 NH Steel Plate ?

P460 is a high strength pressure vessel steel according to EN10028-3. It is a weldable fine grain normalised steel for use in heat exchangers, pressure vessels and reactors.

We stock two grades of P460 – P460NH , P460NL1 ,and P460NL2 .P460NH, so called for having a minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, is is a high quality pressure vessel steel grade for use in boiler and pressure vessel fabrication. It is a normalised fine grain steel with good weldability characteristics.

Other grade types include…

  • NL1 – is ideal for use in low temperatures
  • NL2 – is ideal for use in especially low temperatures

P460NH is also used in sour gas applications where the steel will be HIC Tested to gauge the materials susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking
